Okay, those bands mentioned (like Slipknot & Green Day) are not really guilty pleasures. Some people are so hung up on being seen to hate bands as soon as they become successful because it's 'cool' to only like obscure bands (I don't mean to offend anybody! I used to be a little like that when I was younger), unless of course their music does become really crap! If you like Green Day or Slipknot, it's okay! If you liked Abba, Dolly Parton or something along those I lines I would call it a guilty pleasure but not bands which are reasonably good but everybody denies that they are just to sound cool.
It's fair enough if you genuinely don't like those bands of course I'm just saying that if you do it's not a crime against humanity! Again - no offence intended! My guilty pleasure would have to be a couple of early Cher songs... & I ain't ashamed of it... lol |

Not really a guilty pleasure, but for someone who is way into metal and punk (I even look and smell the part of a metalhead) I do genuinely enjoy a lot of pop acts. It isn't uncommon for me to put on Venga Boys, Spice Girls, or Aqua when I'm just lounging around the house.
