Today there was a Green Day question on Junior Mastermind.
They were referred to as a pop band. I'm not going to argue with John Humphreys, he knows his shít.

they used to be pop punk-ish. now theyre just mainstream pop rock. thats the way i'd classify them.

the albums "dookie" and "nimrod" have a little more of a punk inspired feel to them.
