Finally....

The Cure in exactly one week :)

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 05-19-2016 10:08 AM

Just found out Thundercat and Julia Holter are performing a couple of hours away from me in July. So excited.

I know, I can't wait. I'm currently trying to convince my friends to stop being knobs and come with me, but worst case I'll go by myself. No way I'm missing this.

Friends will always hold you back from seeing someone they don't listen to or don't even attempt to listen too. I always end up seeing gigs by myself, plus it's an excuse to make new friends without your old friends holding you back from that too.

Yeah, most of my friends aren't into music in the same way that I am anyway. One is going to see Thundercat with me, but it doesn't look like he's going to come see her too, so I probably will end up going alone. Still devising my plan on how I'm going to hook up with her after the show though.

Wear the most avant-Garde shirt you have, bring absinthe, a small pipe and American Spirits. It's the quickest and easiest way to get hipster chicks attention.

This is true.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 05-19-2016 03:00 PM

I'm going to wear my Napalm Death or Converge shirt for the irony.

So these guys are pretty awesome, you should check them out! They are a British-Funk Group from the 70's that's making a come back! I will be attending their show here in Los Angeles at the Fonda Theatre. If you are interested please check em out and support them by going to their show! Message me for the link!

Just looked into them. Really diggin the funk fusion sound they had. This tune reminds me of what Snarky Puppy is doing these days:

You're high, I had my first day of class three hours away with no car. I still wish I could've seen them though.

Exo 06-06-2016 04:41 AM

Well, Swans is happening but I waited on the Drive Like Jehu tickets and they're 85 bucks now. Cant afford it. Bummer. Still...Swans.

Frownland 06-06-2016 04:35 PM

So are you saying you would sell his first born to go? Or that if you were him, you would sell your first born? Hilarious regardless, but just wondering.

bob. 06-07-2016 07:46 AM

Heh, not really. Might actually help me tune out some coworkers. I really can't wait for the Sleep show. Never seen them live.

This is the second time I'm seeing them in three months. Both times walking distance from my house. :)

If that sells out before my next paycheck I'm gonna be pissed.

http://carlsbadmusicfestival.org/village-music-walk-2/

Going to this one again, definitely going to try to see Vinny Golia's band at least once and probably Zimbeat but I'm going in blind fo rthe rest.

Justthefacts 06-10-2016 01:48 PM

Anybody ever seen Speedy Ortiz? I'm not a big fan but they're opening up for The Good Life tomorrow so naturally I'm listening to their music until then. Sort of a grungy, noise pop, chick fronted band. It's not bad, I guess.

astaesh420 06-10-2016 04:52 PM

I'm going to see Jean-Michel Jarre in October at the Brighton center. can't wait i am very excited :-)

MicShazam 06-11-2016 04:17 PM

None, because I live in criplling fear of my tinnitus getting worse :/ :O :(

But I'd love to see Tori Amos or Suzanne Vega live before I die.
