After years, and years, and years, and even more years of hearing Jefferson Airplane, I never realized that was Jorma on guitar/vocals. I knew of him through Hot Tuna, and his solo stuff, but I never dug any farther into his career. Mostly, I just remember trying to learn one of his tunes that had been featured in a guitar rag back in the 80's. |

Also, Bill Nye is in the same city, the same week! Rock star combo I never conceived happening... I couldn't pass that up!! |
Shaky Knees Festival in May, then Brand New & Modest Mouse at Madison Square Garden in July. Couldn't be more pumped.

That Shaky Knees line up is crazy.....Jane's Addiction doing Ritual in its entirety would be amazing

July 4th, 2016
at Massey Hall Brian Wilson with Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin performing Pet Sounds in its entirety *faints* |
Seeing Creepoid Saturday to celebrate my end of work and the beginning of my trip.
|
Rob Crow's Gloomy Place Wednesday. Maybe something later in the week too depending on how I feel - Self Defense Family, Alex G, or Nap Eyes. Friends are going to Shearwater or Chairlift Friday but I don't have an interest in either of those.

It would take a lot to ruin an Iron Maiden show. The sheer fact that I was at an Iron Maiden show, and that Bruce Dickinson, Steve Harris, Bruce Dickinson, Adrian Smith, Bruce Dickinson, Nicko McBrain, and Bruce Dickinson were within visual range, would make the experience so overwhelming that they would have to absolutely suck to overcome the magic of IRON ****ING MAIDEN!!! And singing along with the crowd to "The Trooper", "Aces High", and "The Wicker Man" would do a lot to make me forget my disappointment. But since only one of those songs will be played at that concert... I just don't know. How can you have an Iron Maiden show without "Aces High". If I hadn't had the tracklisting before hand like you, then the absence of "Aces High" would legitimately eat at my soul as each successive song that wasn't "Aces High" reared it's non-"Aces High" head. |
This coming Saturday, not so much a concert as a mammoth gig night.
Local Bowie tribute at Hull's most famous music club, The Adelphi. No less than eight different local bands each doing three or four different classics from the late legend. All for just £3! Can't be bad (unless they're all crap of course). |

Spoiler for Large Ones:
Last nights comedy show was a riot. Bobby Lee was a no-show, but they really didn't need him anyway. It was a small turn-out, so we pretty much got to sit where ever we wanted. We stayed up in the balcony since it was a great view of the historic architecture of the Rialto. Tom Green was actually really funny, Pauly Shore was meh, but Harlan had my stomach hurting by the end of the night, plus he shops at Target like me since he had the same Cpt. American shirt I have. Kinda hard to see it in the pic, but it's there. Spoiler for Biguns:
|
Paul *****ing McCartney. For the second time in a year. This time, I'm not going to look at setlists beforehand. I want to be surprised.
|
Bob Mould and Guided by voices.
|
together?
|
Last night, I found out that Eyehategod were playing last night (too lazy to figure out how to not use "last night" twice in that sentence). I had no money, no time to get there, and probably no ride. I was moderately devastated. There's a Leftover Crack show in June, which sounds like it might be fun, but nothing as good as what I just missed... :(

Alice In Chains in July. **** yes!

Possibly...
https://scontent.ford1-1.fna.fbcdn.n...28&oe=57A14447 Cheap tickets are sold out already, but I might splurge a bit, or I may not even have to. Last year was the best concert of the whole year when I got VIP's from my stripper friend and went and saw Faith No More. Hopefully lightning strikes twice. |
^ Denver or Chicago? I picture you an Illinois type character.
Voivod on Sunday. Anybody whose into thrash metal, hardcore punk, punk, progressive thrash should know of these Canadians. Just found out about it today, the venue they're at is literally fifteen minutes away from me. It's gonna be lit. Fuck off and die. |
