I got to see a Canadian tribute band do the Selling England by the Pound tour. The band was called The Musical Box, not sure if you heard of them. If I am not mistaken they got to use the actual slide show from Genesis. It was one of the most awesome events I've ever witness.

Saw Daughters last night in Brooklyn. They played great so this isn't really on the band but I think their heightened popularity and overall vibe change just kind of left me a bit disappointed. I really wanted a dirty raw energy filled show and what I got was a lot of references to having "fun" and Fantano wannabees screaming lyrics. I'm happy for the band and I'm glad everybody had a good time but I guess I've just envisioned what I thought I'd experience for the last fifteen years and what I got wasn't it and it let me down.
Big Brave opened and were pretty vanilla. I did run into Ron Varod from Kayo Dot there and we had a nice conversation before the show started which I thought was cool. It was a fun night but overall something I wish was a little different I guess. Black Midi next week. Should be a better time. |
