Here's one with an outstanding lineup for any of you West Coast forumites living near The Observatory...
X / Los Lobos / Dave Alvin & Phil Alvin / Wanda Jackson / The Knitters / Junior Brown | Observatory And featuring a record swap, poster exhibit, and craft beer! I am extremely jealous!! |

^^Los Lobos is quality tunage. Saw them a few years back and they blew the roof off the place with the first tune Mas Y Mas. Never heard of the rest of those though.

I've seen X, Los Lobos, Dave Alvin, Wanda Jackson, The Knitters, Junior Brown, Lee Rocker (with The Stray Cats) and Los Straitjackets. Never seen any of the others, but I'd go just to see any one of the top 6 acts play. Seeing them all in one show would be amazing!

Finally got to cross Against Me! off my bucket list. They rocked the ****ing house last night at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma, CA. I got to chat with Laura Jane Grace for a bit after the show and was just such a fangirl. They played a lot of older stuff which was great, I wasn't expecting to hear everything I did.
In just a few weeks I'll be seeing Swans at the Independent in SF and couldn't be more stoked. |

Was supposed to go to Alt Fest last week but it was cancelled with just 2 weeks to go and certain ticket selling websites have gone down too so not much chance of refunds but in true British grit style we have managed to reschedule time off and snag a small but intriguing festival next week : Arc Tangent. On the bill amongst others:
Mono Lite God Is An Astronaut Bats (love this band) Russian Circles This Will Destroy You Tall Ships Tera Melos Crippled Black Phoenix El Ten Eleven and many more bands I don't really know TBH! The legendary N.Y band The Toasters are making a very rare foray to the U.K next month and are playing only a few miles away for me to make a trip that should be even more momentous (watch this space) Opeth and Dreadzone over 2 consecutive nights in October. The obligatory Damnation one day festival in November with Funeral For a Friend (who are a bit crap) playing at my local pub for some bizarre reason in the same month.
