I'm going to see The xx for the first time in February! It's gonna be the best.

*(already got my ticket)

Most of these are Nov/Dec/Jan shows...one or two are in Feb, one in March, and one in April.
Gojira? Saw them in Switzerland in 2011 and they blew me away (as I expected them too) but I really want to see them in their own right and not at a festival but they rarely tour here

Coming up:
Peter Hook and the Light (just over a weeks time. The band are apparently playing both Joy Division albums in their entirety. Not sure how that will work but Hooky is a legend and it's local so has to be done)

Celebr8 Festival in May. Prog Metal ahoy! Frost*, Threshold and Mystery amongst others. Be good to go to a different type of festival for once.

Bloodstock Festival. August. King Diamond, Anthrax and Amorphis confirmed amongst others and it's a well run festival.

Roger Waters. The Wall Live. September. Not the biggest fan of The Wall but it will be an experience and will be combined with a short break as my friend lives in Ireland now.

There will be a couple more in between for sure.

Jesus man....i can barley plan next week let alone a year from now

i had the chance to go see The Wall down in Vegas....and at the last minute decided that it would be a waste....i watched a clip on youtube and realized that was a huge mistake....enjoy this one

Festivals are usually planned ahead so flights and time off work etc can be sorted with my mate who now lives in Ireland. We usually alternate buying tickets for each other as the festivals come along.

Individual dates for bands depends on a ton of factors locally regarding lifts to the gig and who is going. The Roger Waters gig is only a suggestion so far but as it's so far away it will be easier to just get the tickets and then plan accordingly. Anything worth watching regarding single dates is harder to plan for as no band comes near a 40 mile radius where I live unfortunately and I have missed so much music because of this

Astronaultalis and Busdriver in a few weeks, just found out about it today and am very excited... so long as Busdriver plays his old stuff cause his last few albums have been kind of hard to sit through.

Conan at the Star & Shadow Cinema, Newcastle this Saturday. Great band. Great venue. Really cool little indie cinema and venue run by volunteers.

I saw Bob Dylan Wednesday night at Barclay's. It was painful. Sounded like a cat puking.

Mark Knopfler opened. I love him but his new stuff sounds like "Riverdance"

I was half expecting that link to be to a Conan O'Brien music page .

Absolutely gutted I got my regular email update from a local venue (a ten minute train journey) this morning for December listings and what's on? Foals! I love this band so got on the phone straight away to book tickets and of course it is sold out with tickets up on sale around 6 weeks ago. They are playing the Royal Albert Hall next year so for them to be playing this small venue and so close is really something. My eldest son loves them too and has never been to a gig before and was really up for it too and the tickets were only £15 each.

I complained to the box office regarding their updates as less than 2 weeks away for notification is not really good enough. I even got on ebay today to see if there were any tickets around but none at all. Bollocks.
