and I'll hopefully be seeing at least one of these in the next few months:

Curren$y
Johnny Winter
The Pains of Being Pure At Heart
The World is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid to Die (plus a buncha other acts)

The problem is Johnny Winter and The World is are the same night. And Curren$y's the night before.
For the Mountain Goats I definitely recommend Tallahassee, and All Hail West Texas, those two are his best albums (and the best to start with too)

And The Pains of Being Pure At Heart are great live, I think you will definitely enjoy their live show, and I really want to see The World Is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die, they came to my hometown over winter break and I couldn't get down to see them, lucky you get a chance to!

Thanks man. I think The World Is... play around here a lot, which is nice. We don't get a lot of concerts but it could be worse.

Hey, i thought their last album was alright - it was a bit downbeat and kinda lacked a certain spark, but it was probably the most thematic album they've made to date, and even great bands have dud albums from time to time. Personally I found their last album to be a grower that over time opened itself out more and more, and in doing so it drew me in further. It ended up being one of my favorites of last year. But it truly didn't have the immediacy of Turn on The Bright Lights or Antics. It was a different sort of beast, I think.

Still would be a great band to catch live... I'd go if it were on my campus for only $20!

So I did end up going. School of Seven Bells opened, which was cool, but I'm not sure how good dream pop/noise pop can be in concert. I think the audience was nodding off.

Interpol were alright. I've never been a big fan of their music but I got kinda bored halfway through and went to sit in the bleachers for the remainder of the show. They played Narc though and that's all that mattered to me.
