Go.

Comfort wise it's not ideal but National Express are doing the extremely cheap fares at the minute. It'll probably take you a while to get down from Sunderland but if you want to go THAT much..

Actually, just checked and it takes roughly 15 hours all round. 7 hours 40 there (£7.50 if you get the 8:35 arriving at 16:15) and 7 hours 15 coming home (£1 if you take the 9:30 arriving at 16:45) http://www.nationalexpress.com/bp/b2.cfm?id=250519182 . You'll probably need to rough it which I've done plenty of times going to gigs in London, just sit in St. Pancras station.. it's open 24 hour and has a warm Costa that you can sit in which is also open 24 hour. OR there's a hostel in Kings Cross (about 3/4 stops on the tube from Camden which is where the gig is) and the rooms are like £8 per night I think. All in all it would probably cost you about £30 if you didn't get a hostel (that's your gig ticket, return coach fare and the area ticket for the tube).

As you can tell I've been pretty bored this morning..

Cheers Spiral. Megabus works out about the same but for a slightly shorter journey. That drops off on Buckingham Palace road. Basically, the reason I am actually considering going is I have a mate who is also as anxious to see them and we both have a different mate who has just moved to the Staines area and so regardless, we would be planning on going down to see him anyway. This way we might be able to do both, go to the gig and then go and stay with him for a day or two that weekend. Of course that involves getting from Camden to Staines after the gig but theres the tube and he may even have the car which would make things easier.

I have also sat on the net looking at maps of the underground, train timetables, National Express and Megabus fares, Google Maps and hotel prices. There is a Holiday Inn just a couple of minutes from the Electric Ballroom which could be handy if needs be.

Fair do's, that seems like a good plan. People always assume London is dear but you can get there for seriously cheap if you shop around and stuff. When I saw Pixies I got the coach for £2 return and stayed in roughed it in the station, dirt cheap. £2 doesn't even get me a return on the bus from mine into town!

Also the Holiday Inn in Camden is pretty nice, I've stayed there before, the one overlooking the lock just near the bridge/The Hawley Arms? It's quite expensive though I thought. The hostel I was talking about before, you can book seperate rooms so you aren't sharing with strangers. A room with 3 beds is £21 I think. I'm gonna speak to my friend and find out what it's called cos she's stayed there before and says it's brilliant.

Ah this is the one Journeys London King's Cross Hostel - London Hostels, Brighton Hostels: Journeys hostels in London, Brighton and Asia for young budget backpackers

You can view a picture gallery and stuff, just enquired about the date you're gonna be there and it's £17 for a 3 bed room. Really not bad at all.

I have the money for all of these tickets, but I'm not counting on getting a ride 100% for a few of these shows. The ones for which I am definitely going to be at because I've already arranged to borrow the car are marked with an asterisk.

October 4: Matt Pond PA
October 7: Dan Deacon w/ Lightning Bolt
*October 12: Hank III
October 15: Ekoostik Hookah
October 18: Michael Franti & Spearhead w/ special guest Bobby Long
*October 23: The Avett Brothers / Grace Potter & the Nocturnals
*October 30: LeAnn Rimes, then heading over to see FREEKBASS
*November 13: Gene Ween w/ Matt Duncan
*November 14: The Dresden Dolls
*November 20: Mike Gordon

^ They never do. They may as well erase Showbiz from the record and Origin of Symmetry is going the same way.
