Just got back from The (English) Beat show. It was great! Dave Wakefield still has an incredible voice, and he seems like a lovely person. I shook his hand afterwards and said hello. "I Confess" was killer.

What a coincidence, I will be burying strangers for free at your place downtown while you're playing at the park next Wednesday. At least, I'm hoping to do that.

FYI: I don't have a yard so you may want to bring a jackhammer.

I haven't been checking gig listings as frequently as i used to for the past couple of years, given I have had very little money and so all the bands I was missing was just depressing. However I caved the other day and now have a list of shows I am hoping to get to.

Maybeshewill w/ Dextro, Ryoga and &U&I - October 1st
Ramesses w/ Obliteration - October 21st
Cancer Bats w/ Trash Talk - November 7th
Annihilator w? - November 13th
Volbeat w/? - December 2nd
The Sword w? - December 5th
Mogwai w/ The Twilight Sad - 27th February

Iggy & The Stooges

Tortoise

Roky Erickson

The Allman Brothers Band

And probably a few more in between and after the above mentioned acts.

I'm going to see Jon Anderson from Yes in September and I'm seeing Jonsi from Sigur Ros in October. It's kinda like I'm seeing the ethereal, high voiced singer of the past one month and the ethereal, high voiced singer of the present the next.

U2 in November.

Decided against Bon Jovi and Blondie & the Pretenders, so I can go see sell-out Irish tossers. But I like their old stuff, and it only costs $40

Have tickets for:

Pavement - September 5
Built to Spill - November 19

There are others in between those two that I'm considering seeing. Such as Melvins who are playing a much smaller venue than normal (benefit show), The Black Keys, Minus the Bear (also a much smaller venue than usual, otherwise I wouldn't bother), Superchunk, Prefuse 73 (opening for someone else, unfortunately), Man Man, Tera Melos, Foals, Dearhunter w/ Casino Versus Japan, and I guess that's about it. All under consideration, no way I'd make it to them all though.

I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.
