MURDER JUNKIE 05-24-2006 08:43 AM

I'm too lazy to look

but it is a lot

LostPhil 05-24-2006 12:50 PM

Not many for me:

Lostprophets (until they release their next one in the next month or so, which I don't intend buying)
Gomez
Hot Hot Heat
The Music
NERD
Gorillaz

Yes, I know all bar 1 have only 2 albums. Need Incubus's Fungus Amongus (sp?) and A's How Ace Are Buildings to finish them two off.

Kripes 05-24-2006 01:23 PM

Oh man. Hahahaha. There are too many to list and half of the list would be of bands with two or three CD's. Just know that anything from the 60s or 70s is in my house. Just one whole wall has CDs covering the whole area and that's about half the collection my Dad and I have been working on.

explosions-in-my-pants 05-24-2006 03:23 PM

oh and.....

These came to my mind. There might be some others too but I'm too lazy to look at my collection. I didn't count bands that have only released one record.

boo boo 05-24-2006 04:47 PM

King Crimson
Pink Floyd
Radiohead

Not their live work, just their studio work.

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 05-24-2006 05:14 PM

I just recently got all of Mindless Self Indulgence's albums. I will probably never listen to them simply because they're not really my thing, but...I have them..

Also...

right-track 05-26-2006 02:12 PM

Close to 300 60's R&B/Northern and rare soul Cd's and counting.
Obviously these are by various artists, but I can't differentiate between any of them...each and every track is a precious item in it's own right, each one a gem.
Collecting them, finding out trivia about the artist and the record label they were originally released on, is both a passion and an obsession...a labour of love.

So then, how many bands do you own every album of...lol?After all, it is the main topic, so..........

Uglycasanova 06-13-2006 09:35 PM

Not including the artists that only have one album(thats not really a feat) i would have to say

Modest Mouse
Red Hot Chili Peppers
The White Stripes
Beck
The Decemberists
Jamiroquai(for some odd reason)

Uglycasanova 06-13-2006 09:44 PM

I know this belongs on a sperarate thread, but I don't think it will take off too well, who would you say has the most albums? I would have to say Depeche mode.

jr. 06-13-2006 09:48 PM

Well, I don't think I own ALL of any band I really enjoy, simply because later in their careers, they went in directions I didn't really care for.

But, here are the ones I own 95% or better:

Areosmith
KISS
Ted Nugent
Led Zeppelin
Iron Maiden
Springsteen
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Cheap Trick
Queen
Journey
The Cars
John Mellencamp
Mary Chapin Carpenter
Randy Travis

There are a lot more I own, with 5 or less, but the list is too lengthy to write.

Depeche Mode? About 1/6 the discography of Frank Zappa. Jandek, Bob Dylan, and Pearl Jam (if you choose to count all the live discs) have been pretty prolific as well.

Uglycasanova 06-13-2006 10:35 PM

Yes Depeche Mode, they have like 80 freakin albums, tho most are around 5 songs per.

I don't think you can really count piles of EP's remixing the same songs.. in terms of actual unique output I'd say Zappa has them beat, easily.

hiu 06-14-2006 12:07 AM

Johnny Cash has somewhere over the 150 mark. I think Zappa is 88 or something? I can't remember the exact amount of Zappa albums, that's including compilaitions though.

cardboard adolescent 06-14-2006 12:16 AM

I think Zappa has around 70 studio albums. Elvis recorded around the same amount during his lifetime, but after his death more than 100 live albums and what not have popped up.

Alo 06-14-2006 05:35 AM

Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Afi, and err, I don't know, I usually don't own more than one or two cds per artist.

Levithan 06-14-2006 05:39 AM

Metallica... :D
Avenged Sevenfold

Thats it...Nearly completed Pantera...Will when I get some more money...w00p

It would be pointless to get their first few CDs when they are just covers of American tunes.

I am sure I have all the Gorillaz CDs, I think I am missing one of their dub CDs. I have three I think their is four.
