Learn about new bands...Today!

Alright due to the popularity of the "game threads" I thought I would make a "game thread" that would help in exposing people to new music. So pretty much you post a link to a song you like. The person below you will of listened to the song and say if they like it or not. Then they will post a link. Hopefully though this won't die because that would suck and I wanna hear some good new bands.

Buckethead- We are one

mosesandtherubberducky 01-22-2006 08:35 PM

Oh EEEM EEF GEE

I love that song, I guess no one else will bother seeing what it is because they are too busy talking about other things.

Stevie Ray Vaughan

bungalow 01-22-2006 08:37 PM

I am not a big SRV fan, so, I don't like the song all that much. I will give it to him though, he can play the guitar.

Immortal Technique =]

mosesandtherubberducky 01-22-2006 08:41 PM

I do enjoy Immortal Technique but I'm more of an old-school rap person for me. I can play that and not get yelled at for hearing the f bomb being dropped fifty times.

Mommy's Mistake

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 01-22-2006 09:38 PM

Other Peoples Children

missblueyes 01-22-2006 10:04 PM

I like the music in that song, but the vocals could use some work. not bad though by any means.

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...iendID=7677718 ~Missy Higgans - Scar (forgive me i do not know how to post a link as you all did just yet)

if you pause the myspace music player and whatch the video, it actually sounds a lot better there.

bungalow 01-23-2006 06:00 AM

Lets get this moved into the lounge so that it will get some attention.
Now, I realize that this thread wasn't designed to kiss the ass of other members, so it may not get too many replies, but, I still think it should be put in the lounge

mosesandtherubberducky 01-23-2006 05:59 PM

^You didn't post a link so I will have to get a band.

mosesandtherubberducky 02-19-2006 07:02 PM

I like them. Good blend of sounds.

www.myspace.com/reverendhortonheat you knew this was comming.

IamAlejo 02-19-2006 07:42 PM

I looked at the picture on their page, and was like "o crap this is gonna be horrible". But I gave it a try. And then said "o crap this is horrible".

Just kidding. If I was into that kind of music I could see that being good.

As for me I'd like people to check out The Fall of Troy's NEW STUFF. Yeah, new stuff. Sounds pretty good, a little darker than there older stuff. But since it's new, no real recordings. Just live footage. Which sucks because the distortion in the video is bad, but I love the new song so I don't care. So click the link. Wait for the video to load. Then go to 15:20 on the timer. That's when the song begins.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...e+fall+of+troy

ps. yes the video doesn't match the sound. I know. I have it downloaded but don't feel like uploading it somewhere else.

pss. I've got their other new song on mp3 format which is in actual decent sound quality on the computer if anybody is interested. you know where to come to.

adidasss 02-19-2006 07:45 PM

what's pss supposed to mean? post scriptum scriptum?

IamAlejo 02-19-2006 07:54 PM

I wanted to write pps. Wasn't paying attention.

I did it kinda half assed because I hate people who use ps.

sleepy jack 02-19-2006 07:56 PM

Shiz nig (alejo) hit me up on AIM once im on next time that pretty much like..owned.

Through The Eyes Of The Dead

Muzak 02-19-2006 08:24 PM

Yes they are pop punk but they have a keyboardist!

Muzak 04-04-2006 05:28 PM

bump, this was a great thread

Crowe 04-04-2006 06:05 PM

Check out DontRunMeOver's band Jodi Lee Parker... I think they rock pretty hard. They have also landed a spot on my work out Playlist on my iPod. Very prestigious, indeed.

 I completely missed this comment when it was made, cheers for adding us to your iPod playlist Crowe, if you want me to send you the complete songs (not the scratchy 75% length stuff from myspace) then let me know. We're recording a couple more songs in a studio next week - one would definitely have a good groove for cardio...

(who mentioned self-publicising bumping?)

Crowe 04-12-2006 04:20 AM

I would love to hear a song that i've written interpretted by you guys - what do you think?

That might be possible within the band. I'd certainly be up for it, although the others in the band (Paul, the guitarist at least) do tend like over-working songs, so it all might be more hassle than I'd be prepared to go through at the moment!

I can certainly make some songs from your lyrics on my own, which will also stimulate me to work out how to home record properly... and if I'm in the position get the band to bash out that music next to a mic then I'll certainly make it happen.

So anyhow, which songs did you have in mind?
