Cliche: The start
Alright, well, you know how the radio's are just one cliche song after another these days? Well, I have something interesting to bring up...
The first ever song to be written that would be considered "cliche" today couldn't have possibly been cliche back then because it's the first it would have ever been done. Do you get what I'm saying? So, if you were looking at some song lyrics from back in the day you'd have no right getting off and saying "oh god thats way too cliche" because it'd have been the first time it's ever been done. So...a penny for your thoughts...

Alright, let me restate in lamens: There's no way a song that was the first of it's genre could've been concidered/would be concidered "cliche"

Mushy song lyrics have just borrowed from mushy poetry from waaaaaaaaaay back. Wordsworth, Byron, Shelley etc. And they nicked all their ideas from Ancient Greece.
Mushy has been around pretty much as long as communication has been.
