This is tough. . . . . . . . . .
It's a tie between Bob Marley & the Wailers and Mars Volta. . . I'm not sure how you can have a favorite artist/band/duo/musician, basically. Is there some sorta criteria that determines this? I dunno. Oh well Peace

Fine, then my vote goes to The Smiths (Just because)
