Love will tear us apart - Joy Division. Never heard such a level of exposure in a song before. Incredible.

Queen - White Queen (As It Began)

This song has always made me incredibly sad. Unrequited love, but I feel for the woman in the song as well. It's a really beautiful song, but it's immensely tragic. The speaker's pain is very strongly felt, as well as the pain of the woman.

I know that it's not the case, but the end of the song always makes me feel like the woman befell a tragic end before the speaker could tell her his feelings. He'd admired her from afar and couldn't talk to her in the beginning - mustered up the courage to do so - then something enormously tragic happened, and he was where he began; unable to talk to her.
