Blower's Daughter is a hell of a great (and sad) song.
I'll throw in The Background by Third Eye Blind. Not a band I listen to often, but if I need a song to absolutely numb everything, that would be the one. What Sarah Said by Death Cab is also incredibly sad. |

The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, Gordon Lightfoot
or Sullivan, Caroline Spine... I couldn't choose... shoot me. I always feel that maritime songs are the saddest, something about dying in water, bummer.

I love that song but it doesn't seem sad at all to me. In fact I find it kind of upbeat in a weird, irreverent way. It's funny how two people can have such different interpretations of the same song, but I guess that's art for you.
