Found this forum from Google Images. I saw this post above and thought I should clarify for the poor lad. Alanis was 17 at the time of that first album. Already that absolves her from any percieved moral ambiguity involving image; people are still developing their persona at that age. But add to it that her manager at the time (Ballard his name was, I think) was known as someone who was more concerned with image than substance.

Search 'Too Hot' on YouTube and click the first affiliated video on the sidebar to see her newer and truer version. She is better than 99% of the artists from the last decade or so.

Oh, and look at her spoof of 'My Hunps' from the black-eyed peas.

I'm sorry but that has to be one of the most moronic statements ever. Better than Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Beck, the White Stripes, Elliott Smith, Arctic Monkeys, Neutral Milk Hotel, Belle and Sebastian, Brand New and so on?

To me, Alanis falls under the category of artists of whom you only really need 1 album. Most of her best stuff was on Jagged Little Pill. You could get more if you really dig it, but I have JLP, and I like it, but I'm in no rush to get more. Kind of like Fleetwood Mac with Rumors, or AC/DC with Back In Black. When it comes down to groups like that, I dig the album, but not particularly the artist.
