Default MPA banning tabs

As most of you probably already know, the MPA (Music Publishing Association) is holding all forms of unauthorized tablature as copyright infringement against the bands who wrote the songs being tabbed. This has led to many music tab sites and forums to be shut down. The MPA thinks that this will help bring money back to the music industry through people having to buy official sheet music. What a joke! If they wanted to bring money back to the music industry they should go after the free music download sites. Tabs allow so many people to learn how to play guitar and bass. Don't they see that when people can learn to play their favorite band's songs that it promotes the music so that if the band comes out with more albums then the fans will buy them? By banning tabs all they're going to do is to piss off the fans that are already pissed off against the system. That'll lead to weaker fan bases and will probably also lead to a decrease in album sales. So what are they thinking? I personally think that if the MPA was smart they'd be advocates for correct tabbing of songs, and not try to ban tabs. But that's only me....

what are your opinions?
