Agreed UH, but lets reflect on the good times we had. I use the length of the thread to determine how great a thread was. Sure, we can discredit a page as off-topic, but for a moment in time. MB actually discussed music.

We now return to our regularly schedualed newb-bashing, and photo posting.

Hey, that noob needed to be told off.
But, Augustana's album came out this year.
I was listening to it again.
I replace the BMFV album with that.
Because

Its very very catchy the vocals are nice, lyrically its really good and i just <3 it. Its very solid album and if you like one song you pretty much like them all.

Excuse me as I was typing rather fast at the moment. And It was meant to say Piano has a natural edge of Theory so I'll admit to that mistake.

And as for the spelling parts, do you have anything better to do than "grade" my post?

And soundscapes is a more technical term of saying, noise. Or music. Depending on what you refer to it as.

The moments are admittedly, few and far between, but they are oh so grand.

People grade themselves by what they think they are...
...People are graded by others for what they really are!!!

That's because every song sounds the same.

I'd like to start off with my 3 Biggest Album Disappointments (especially since the first 2 albums listed I had high expectations for)

1. Weezer, "Make Believe"
I don't really know what to say - I was shocked to hear Weezer make such an all around bad album. The only two songs that are even close to redeemable are "Hold Me", and "Beverly Hills" (a clear radio hit cop-out for the label, but stil not bad, nonetheless) The rest is absolute garbage - including the absolute worst song of 2005 "We Are All On Drugs".

3. Sleater-Kinney, "The Woods"
I know a lot of critics liked this album, but I didn't like what the girls did with this one. I still love listening to Carrie Brownstein play guitar on almost every song, but for some reason, I just couldn't get into this album. Still, a couple of songs stand out, including "The Fox", and "Jumpers". The rest just didn't click with me like other S-K albums have.

2. Black Eyed Peas, "Monkey Business"
B.F. (before Fergie) BEP guys used to have some street cred (see "Bridging the Gap from 2000). However, it's clear now that all BEP care about is hitting a home run radio hit with every song. "Monkey Business" has way to many guests, and tries way to hard to please everyone.

Now my 3 Best Albums of 2005…

1. The New Pornographers, "Twin Cinema"
"Twin Cinema" is chock full of beautiful melodies and harmonies, and is head-and-shoulders my favorite album of '05. "Falling through Your Clothes" is a simply a great song, and "These Are the Fables" is catchy and poppy while at the same time being unique and interesting. Neko Case gets a lift on many songs with the additions of Nora O'Conner, and Kathyrn Calder - And the entire album benefits from it. Be sure to also check out "Stacked & Crooked", and (my favorite song title of the year) "Jackie Dressed in Cobras"

2. Jack Johnson, "In Between Dreams"
I know a lot of Jack Johnson songs sound the same - it's easy to get his albums mixed up. I've repeated this very statement myself to Jack Johnson fans since "Brushfire Fairytales"; However, I cannot deny this album's appeal, and Jack's songwriting has gotten a bit more adventurous. Some songs revert back to the earlier doe-eyed and gooey fare he used to write but for the most part, many of the tracks are well-written, played and produced. I particularly like "Better Together", and "Staple it Together", and "Banana Pancakes".

3. White Stripes, "Get Behind Me Satan"
OK - This may be the most polarizing album in a long time (particularly for Stripes' fans) Most people either loved it or hated it - I personally loved it. Jack White is still THE best songwriter in rock 'n roll today… even if he misses the mark every now and then. To me, the good ones far outweigh the bad ones. And in my opinion, there's more good than bad on this album, including, "Doorbell", "I'm Lonely, But I Ain't That Lonely", and "Forever For Her Is Over For Me". Not their best album, but still good nonetheless.

The New Pornographers, I forgot about them, now they released a damn good album for 2005.
Their best yet.
Matador should have publicized that more.
