Although a band may start a song, it doesn't mean that they were the reason that the song is now well known or popular!!! The Beatles wrote a great song, but as far as making it successful and well known in the music scene, Elton John pretty much owns it!!!Nobody really cared as much for that song before Elton John did it and no offense to The Beatles whatsoever, but Elton John made that song a much better one!!!
In closing, I love The Beatles and respect them all...
...For me, there "White Album(s)" show the true greatness of the band, without a doubt!!!
well 311 did the cure's love song and made it popular but who's song do we call it. that's right the cure's because no matter who made the song popular it is still the writer's song. And up until now i was not even aware of the fact that elton john sang that song much less made it popular. So lucy in the sky with diamonds remains the beatles though it may have been covered by elton john it is theirs. End of story.
