They were/are a significant part of music, especially during the 70's and 80's.I like and respect both bands/artists very much for what they've done/created for classic music!!!
Although a band may start a song, it doesn't mean that they were the reason that the song is now well known or popular!!! The Beatles wrote a great song, but as far as making it successful and well known in the music scene, Elton John pretty much owns it!!!Nobody really cared as much for that song before Elton John did it and no offense to The Beatles whatsoever, but Elton John made that song a much better one!!!
In closing, I love The Beatles and respect them all...
...For me, there "White Album(s)" show the true greatness of the band, without a doubt!!!
Whats with you and the emoticons?

I don't think Manson kills other songs. His songs have that twisted dark feel to them and I quite like it.

The only crap cover he has ever done that I've heard is Another Brick In The Wall. He failed me with that. I think he took the completely wrong approach to the way he sung it. Far too soft, his scream is a weapon, he should have used it.

I agree with whoever said that at least Mansons covers aren't your same generic identical copy of the original.

I agree, I love his covers of Tainted Love and Sweet Dreams, they're eerie and sexy.

Misfits did a good cover of Blitzkrieg Bop. There was no variation from the original besides the fact that Doyle's guitar is more of a crunch than Johnny's. But besides just the variation you would expect it is pretty good.

Evanessence did decently with nirvana's heart-shaped box....you could actually understand most of the words without looking them up.
