My locals...
Belle & Sebastian - They've been around so long I never seen them before they were big, but they kick around everywhere, we shop in some of the same shops, drink in the same pubs... its not a big deal when you see them anymore. Franz Ferdinand - Been going to the same art school club as them for ages, and they, along with Belle & Sebastian were kicking about my local pub on Hogmanay for the bells. Seen them before they were really big and loved it. Snow Patrol - Wow, been into this lot for years, first seen them play about 5 or 6 years ago. They're not even from here, but formed here. I have friends who are friends with Gary, but I haven't met them personally. No desire to. Teenage Fanclub - Another local band, can't believe it but I very recently found out my aunts best mate is Jerry's sister. All the time I've known her and I didn't know her bro was in Teenage Fanclub till i saw a cd in my aunts collection and she casually replied "Oh thats just my friend's brothers band." Delgados - Also kick around all the time. Beta Band - Okay they're from Edinburgh but I still managed to start chatting to them in a bar queue, completely unaware of who they were until people started letting them skip to the front. I totally screwed this one up, I totally didn't believe them when they offered me backstage passes to their final ever gig the following night. I'm sure they found it endearing. I think thats about it that you'd really know. Edit: Sons and Daughters. Friend of a friend is the lead singer's brother, know them that way and also seen before they were big (not that I'd really say they are yet... but they will be).
