The reason why I didn't comment was because I've been here since 2005 and in all that time, virtually nobody with a love of Northern Soul has visited these boards.
The few that have only stayed for a short time.
Recently though, what with you barbarella, Molocules and Bulldog there's never been so many here.
What I didn't want to do was come across as some kind of forum expert so I left you to it. If that makes any sense?
Hey RT - " Never Been So Many" Five of us! Now you know why I feel lonely in the Funk and Soul Forum! - I'm on my own, Lol! ( I actually put Crystal World on a You Tube clip in there somewhere a while back.) And with Bulldog being from Bolton, it makes sense that he's into Northern. Bulldog, do you still wear really wide pants!? ( There used to be a joke about that but I still don't know why!) Btw, I don't mind if you are an expert on Northern- I wouldn't have learned so much otherwise!

Yes it does. But you know what they say about the one eyed man in the kingdom of the blind and all that.

I started this thread years ago to bring attention to an underground scene that had been going since the 60's and still going strong to this day.
Especially to the Americans here, who I believe missed out on the best soul ever produced because of the Motown monopoly.
I actually prefer the other thread...http://www.musicbanter.com/soul-funk...ul-cellar.html
It's been a while since I added to it.
Love to see others contribute, especially Scots and barbarella. *hint

There were a few anomalies...remember Joe 90 and the Hawaii 5 O theme tunes?
Best guess was that they were danceable.
Love 'Ghost In My House' though...great tune.

"Joe Ninety"!? Now that is something that deserves to be on here!!
I noticed somewhere at the beginning of this thread was a question; "What's An All-Nighter?". Oh, Do I Remember! Now it seems as if things don't even get started till Midnight; Back then we were already On The Good Foot by eight o'clock!

All dayers weren't bad either. They usually started at 14:00 and finished about 3 in the morning. Going home drenched in sweat with your ears still buzzin from the volume of the music. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

After an all nighter we would go straight to the local swimming baths and dive in with nothing on but our Y-fronts. I still shiver at the thought.
