NOLA is some great heavy stoner rock with great riffs though. I just apparently don't need them to do anything more.

In my experience, Down are just sort of "there." Good when you're in that mood. I did have a chance to see them live a couple years ago though. Didn't bother.

I'd agree. But there are so many bands that are doing what they are, but better.
