It might look better, being a more modern design, but functionally I think it sucks. Not to mention they seem to have prematurely launched it with several features disabled, so it doesn't help first impressions for a lot of people.
What I find seriously lacking from my profile page is access to friends and what they're listening to. I also wish I could hide the top albums thing on my profile. It's pretty meaningless since the number of tracks on an album can vary greatly. It also takes up too much space. And Events are totally lacking right now, both on my profile and elsewhere. I keep track of shows I want to attend using last.fm, and there's no way to get to my calendar at the moment. If I look up an event it shows that I'm attending, but there's no way to change my status or go to my overall calendar. Probably something they're still working on, that they should have figured out before launching.

I'm not sure how I feel about the last.fm update.
I tried Spotify last night for the first time and I guess it's ok. Kind of similar to Grooveshark, which I miss dearly. I think I'll hold back on trying to express my feelings until everything's functional.

And that's a good point about the top albums. I didn't think of how it could be skewed by the number of tracks. |

One thing I really like is that they have album and track recommendations instead of just the artist.

Oh and one more thing: You used to be able to delete scrobbled tracks by going to your full listening history. This was really convenient in the case of double/triple scrobbling sometimes caused by the last.fm client or iTunes, and also for mislabeled scrobbles coming from Spotify. I would wipe those out and re-scrobble from iTunes or using scRYMble usually. They better add that back.
Expanding on the friends thing: What I find seriously lacking from my profile page is access to friends and what they're listening to. You can access a list of "followers" pretty easily, but it doesn't give you any information without clicking into their profile. Oh and no more compatibility meter? Balls!

I hadn't checked until now, but I do like that I can see my recent tracks and have access to other information more immediately than on the last version. The mobile adds are bull**** though.

I like how streamlined it as and the layout is quite pleasing to the eye, but indeed launching without some features was STUPID on their part.
I like the top albums too personally, but my list isn't really skewed by weird track listings or anything luckily. I have no problem whatsoever with people seeing this when they go to my profile:
