I think it factors in the artists which are in the recommended artists for each of your top 20. I'm guessing that those were just the artists recommended the most by the most of your top 20 bands.

EDIT - Addendum:

My list has Widespread Panic on it, and I really don't even like WSP - I don't even have them in my library. They've just been recommended by my top bands, I believe.

I think we should stop the eclectic score/super-eclectic score discussion before people actually begin to think such a number even matters.

dankrsta 11-05-2010 03:49 PM

Too high eclectic score can also mean that you listen to 'everything' a bit, but don't delve anywhere too deeply. So, it's all really relative.

What a week!

Townes Van Zandt (147 plays)

It's official. Townes is my favorite performer. And I'll stand on Bob Dylan's coffee table and say that! ;) his music is haunting and beautiful. Strong folk and blues influenced outlaw country. He actually makes me proud to live in Houston.

really touching moment at 1:25

Lightnin' Hopkins (39 plays)

A Texas blues legend. His lyrics often are dark and humorous.

Tom Waits (36 plays)

Listened to Bone Machine and played Dirt in the Ground about a billion times.

Bob Dylan (25 plays)

Played some of Highway 61, John Wesley Harding, and Nashville Skyline.

Nick Drake (19 plays)

Played some tracks off of Byrter Layter.

Punch (16 plays)

Played the self titled. If you haven't heard that album yet, it's a modern-day hardcore/thrash classic.

Notorious B.I.G. (14 plays)

Played some stuff from Ready to Die and Life After Death.

Blind Lemon Jefferson (13 plays)

Played the singles anthology. Pre-war blues if often overshadowed by the legendary Robert Johnson, but Blind Lemon J was actually a big influence on him. Some great stuff.
