Maybe I've said this before but I have to admit, even though I signed up with last.fm a while back, I don't really understand how to use it.

You're scrobbling though? (got the plug in for your music player)

When you sign up, on your page the first thing you see is something that asks if you want to download the Scrobbler. You download it and then when you listen to music on iTunes (or any other media player but you have to specify which media players you want to scrobble from) it picks it up on Last FM

Download The Last.fm Scrobbler – Last.fm

What's the point of doing that?

Last FM gives you a chart of your most listened to artists overall/past 7 days, so you can go "Oh, I've been listening to *insert name of artist here* a lot recently. That's nice."

It also gives you recommendations on music suited to your tastes..

I have to say I don't really see the appeal. How do you use last.fm otherwise? It seems like I was able to listen to it kind of like radio in the past but for some reason recently I can't even figure out how to do that anymore.
