for people other than us lucky Americans, Brits and Germans, last.FM is instituting a 3 euro surcharge for use of the radio function. i don't know if it started yet but it's in the process of getting wrapped up into other members.

i find it ironic since about half of the tracks are pirated to begin with...where's the money going?

Yeah I just read about that actually, sounds douchy of them, why not just have adverts like spotify.

eh, maybe, i just don't understand why they're singling out the smaller countries. i suppose it might have something to do with the lesser volume of traffic they receive from those countries.

Or rather that they don't get advertising revenue from them, a lot of companies only accept hits from the US or the UK, or at least a small selection of countries.
