I just realized I did listen to a Fantomas album and it didn't register it at all.
Does Last.FM not keep track of tracks that are under minute long or something?

I think the threshold is 30 seconds... lucky I'm not a grindcore fan.
If last.fm were to rank artists on your profile by total playing time as they should, and not by number of scrobbled tracks, then this threshold would not even need to exist to prevent spam scrobbling.

When you're listening online at Last.FM it will scrobble any track where you play at least 50%
Not sure if it's the same for tracks done on your music player.

No, it works off of how many iPod plays it has. So if you fastforward all the way through a song to the end, it'll scrobble. Also, if you play all but the last second of a track but don't finish it, it won't scrobble when you connect to a computer.
