I think we need more mods.
We get attacked by all of these myg0t spammers, but they dont get banned because there are no mods on to ban them.
We should have a mod from each time zone.
It is sad that these people get to spam the forum to hell, and yet dont get banned for 3 hours.

The forum is always clean of spam and spammers are banned within minutes.
and i dont think if we did pick mods were just gonna grab someone we know is gonna lock and close everything.

As i said if mods were picked they aren't gonna pick people who are obviously gonna lock everything.

First of all, if you want to take subtle jabs at me, bring it on kid. I can make your balls shrivel faster than the mygoters did to you last night. The only "response" you could come up with was "emo kid", which in itself was no different from the "insults" the mygoters were spewing. You and misfitspunk need to realize that complaining about spamming in every other posts is in itself spam, no different from those you persecute.

Second, the sh*t gets cleaned up. This is why I get frustrated with moderating this site. The mods collectively do so much for this site, although not always visibile, people like myself receive absolutely NO credit at all. Just take a look around here. I contribute in basically every goddamn music forum. If there is a major problem, either report the post/thread or PM a mod. It'll get done, guaranteed.

Third, there is already a thread in the mod's forum for a new mod to replace Satchmo, who is M.I.A. I personally don't think we need anymore, because we already have Alejo, AITA, and Fenix who are online at least once a day getting sh*t taken care of. Even before AITA, I strongly felt me, Fenix, and Alejo were doing a sufficient job. It's just that MB users are never quite satisified and just look for more things to bitch about at every opportunity.

Three hours? WOW, because those three hours that they aren't banned is so detrimental to this site's quality. We don't all spend 23 out of 24 hours in front of a computer like you, give me a goddamn break. They'll get banned eventually, and you can't blame us if something slips past us.

Also, this site has had a history of not rewarding those who actually deserve to moderate. I remember when I got made mod along with Satchmo, people were all bitching and moaning because neither of us received hardly any nominations in the nominations thread. It's a shame, because many of the "elite" members (aka those that have exceptional music expertise) didn't even get mentioned, guys like Zealious, TheBig3KilledMyRainDog, and All Nite Dinah. You probably don't even know who those guys are.

hell...im on almost all day. ive been here for most of the spammer attacks over the past year. when none of the mods were on....i might add. i am here almost every day from 9am to about 1am in the miiddle of the night. the spamming gets annoying. especially lately with all the myg0t losers and such. i would use moderator powers simply to keep spammers out.

i half agree that we need more mods, and half disagree and think that the mods now are doing just fine.

my agreement is this: the mods that we have now do i fine job. they take care of what responsibilities they have. but i have noticed that usually the mods are only on until about 10 o clock. now, this is understandable, because people have lives, school and other things to worry about. but 10 is usually about the time that the spammers roll around. so...it gets pretty bad until a mod shows up. usually its alejo, hookers or aita lately. when the spammers roll around everyone starts flaming their threads and they just spam even more. and when one of them gets banned (main for example) he comes back and makes a new account (lord mainmort). and he does this after the mods leave so that hes free to spam all he wants. all this happens while a small group of actual contributing posters watch. so....i agree and disagree at the same time. we either need more mods....or mods that are on more often and for longer periods of time.

this is not to say of course that the current mods arent doing a good job. they are doing an excellent one. its just...not quite fast enough at times. and by the time one mod leaves and another one signs on, the spammers have made a mess of some threads and the emo forum especially.

a suggestion might be that one or two who are on for the better part of the day are selected to serve as a sort of "security" force (however lame that may sound) against the spammers.

I think the mods are doing a great job handling it....when they finally get on.
We have to remember that all of this is going on at different times for different people.
I'll get on at about 11 eastern time. I remember, clearly when "emoisghey" and "emopwner" made their accounts, and I remember wishing that AITA would get on and ban those ****ers. Then I remembered that it was about 4 in the morning where she lives. There was no reason for her to be on that early.
Then, last night, I very clearly remember Kama and Main and emocabm making accounts, and once again there was no mods on.
I wasnt taking jabs at the mods, only hookers, for calling anyone who posted in the myg0t forums dumbasses. Come on, .....namecalling. It was all in good fun.
I'm simply saying that for the last two "attacks" I have been on with one or two other members....and a bunch of myg0t spammers. I just think that there should be more mods so that we wont have to put up with them for any longer than 30 mins.

which is why i suggested a "security team" that consists of the people that are on most of the day....(such as myself). although...thatll probably never happen.

Of all the mods to take jabs at, you picked the wrong one. And I stand by my remarks that you and the others were being dumbasses, because you, perfection, and misfits have noticably and characteristically been members that spend more time complaining about spammers than actually discussing music. If you need further justification, I'm more than happy to sticky the thread where you opened the floor for mygoters to pwn your ass repeatedly.

I also stated clearly that there is a discussion about a new mod in the mod forum. You don't need to waste time nominating people, because you've only been here for two months. Gregb won't pick the next mod based on who YOU think is popular around here.

You two also seem to be forgetting (or intentionally not noticing) that I was the one who was online last night, that banned several mygoters (including main and his next account) and deleted nearly ten threads in the emo forum. Prior to that, I wasn't even logged on here for a week, consider that good timing. When I logged on this morning, even more work had been done. If you're complaining about 30 minutes or 3 hours or whatever, that is just plain sad.

personally, i think thats untrue. sure...i complain about them....and respond to attacks they make on me personally, but i do not spend more time doing that than discussing music. i dont think that characterizes me.

and the only reason i even agree a little bit with bungalow is because i hate watching the stupid spammers mess up the forums and not being able to do anything about it.

and im not saying that you arent doing a good job as a mod, because you are. youre doing an excellent one. im just saying that a mod that is on for the longest periods of time might be a useful tool, in that whoever it was could stop the spammers in their tracks before they did as much damage as they have been doing lately.

Hookers you have no right to walk around calling people "dumbasses" i got banned several times for that.

I find RiseAgainstRocks a little too abrasive with other peoples opinions, Merkabas more objective, i personaly think he would be a better canidate.

Personally I think everything is back to normal now and I'm giving a big shout out to the mods for settling the spammers down! :)

Being a mod myself before, I understand the work that gets put into keeping a forum clean.

come on guys, there's on need for more mods on this site. like alejo and others stated, three hours? if it bothers you that much just ignore the posts and continue on with the conversation like they dont exist. the main thing is that the mods get sh*t done, quit whining about a few losers posting useless crap in the forums. As for more mods, i dont' think you guys get how annoying it is being a mod sometimes. they've gotta read through every thread and check for spam, innapropriate content, etc etc. and in case you havent noticed, a lot of the threads aren't exactly the most thrilling reads. but they do it, and hey clean everything up fast enough. So just lay off and realize how pointless and petty it is to be complaining about something like that.

You know after being on at this hour out of boredom.
I don't think its nessacary to have a mod so the forums can be watch at night.
