id add QOTSA, elbow, libertines (british music scene wise anyway) and bright eyes (love him or hate him- hes released a couple of very competent albums in 5 years) into the mix aswell.

Ok, Im asking this now because Ive gone long enough without understanding. What is the big deal with QOTSA? I've never heard anything of theirs being as groundshakingly new and innovative as everyone makes out. Yeah, ok, there's a few stand out tracks.
