I don't always dig who RS puts on their cover, nor do I always trust the musical reviews, but on the whole their writers are excellent.

I will sometimes have a look at mags but they can be so bad that there's no point buying something for that amount of money

I dont read music magazines mainly because i dont like the concept of writers dictating my taste in music and telling me how it should and shouldnt be.

Well ok, i do read Rolling Stone, just so i'll have something to gripe about, they never cease to piss me off.

None yet, they are too mainstream. I do like flicking through the odd metal magazine, but because my taste is so old school, there's not a lot of bands that interest me.

i read spin. many of their articles entertain me. they dont always talk about the mainstream bands that all the 13 year old girls gossip about. in fact they have had a great many articles on underground bands and quite a few on music culture as well. i read it because i enjoy some of the columns they have and they have a comic of a life experience retold by a member of a band every month in the back of the issue.

i also read magazines like guitar-one and guitar world. they often have interviews with members of bands that i like, those are always fun to read. and they have six songs tabbed and explained by the musicians who wrote them in the back pages of every issue.

i dont bother with the rolling stone, to me thats just another "national inquirer" for the music world.

I used to get Metal Hammer back in the eighties.Don't bother anymore.
The bands I'm into very rarely get a mention nowadays.
