There's arguments to back up or oppose that statement. Singles sales are way down, and will continue to fall, but album sales are steadily climbing. Coupled with the ease with which anyone can download now, legally and illegally, its difficult to really assess one way or the other.

Well maybe, and to an extent I agree with you, but that doesn't really equate with higher sales of albums.

i still buy albums ...2 a week
i only download collabs that cant be obtained other ways

But yes, there's still the thrill of holding that crisp new album in your hands, getting it home and realising all the plastic spikes in the middle are broken and the cd keeps falling out.

that happens to me when i get a double cd ....arghhhhhhhh

fyi- my company put a patent on a cd opener ...its cool just slide the peice over the cd an walah open ..

i feel your pain, but i buy all of my cd's from amazon so i've come to expect that....that's why i bought a box full of new cd cases,so i just change it and it's brand new and crispy clean again....
