Um, he's showing off a bit of flesh.

Does that count?

Anyway, Keith Moon being mad as a box of frogs more than made up for the not so handsome guitarists.

Music can never be dead because music will always have a passion in it. Whether it is MCR and their passion is money and fame, or The Diskettes who's passion is to play locally and make me people dance, or whether it is 50 Cent who wants to get rich and die trying, every music has a passion for something. And passion can never die. It never has and it never will.

alexis- get fighted

"'Cause you can waste your time, redefining the day that music died
Or you can spend your life, guilt free and ostracized
'Cause all the fashion in the world can't save you now
It's something, I'll write it down for you

'Cause this shit is not about pants
And this shit's not about shirts
And this shit is definitly not about hair
This shit is having a good fucking time
Maybe music isn't dead
Maybe music isn't dead
Maybe we all just forgot what it fucking sounded like
don't, forget***
don't forget***

Default the truth

did anyone happen to hear what ozzie was talking about to carson daily on his show on friday? In short they exposed how the rock scene is totally incoherent. Ozzie said that he is confronted by people saying he is their biggest inspiration but yet he doesnt know what they got from him....... he sayed he grew up liking the beetles for their melodies and adapted that into his own music.
I totally agree.Whenever I flip through the channels and come across mtv I see promos of bands that think playing fast and confident and in your face is good. when did the rock genre go so biased image and less to function? metallica has gone to ****, losing there melodic metal sound to go with this trend. it is sad.

The major problem there is that you're looking at MTV and taking what they play as indicative of the state of music.

ok so what do you consider more mainstreem in music then mtv? Iam not supporting mtv in any way, but I mean its such a huge part of publicity for musicians how can it not have effects on making bands mainstreem?

the radio can have an effect but It doesn't give the image or the trends. when you say the state of music you mean ROCK, or music as a whole, because as rock is my point

Personally, I think music will never die. Its been around thousands of years and will continue to be around till the end of the world (and even after that). Alot of peoples perceptions about the current music "industry" is biased by where they are looking for bands.

If you look to TV, radio, and movies to find new music you are definatly going to get a different picture than if you go to local shows, scout on the internet, and read Zine's. Not saying all mainstream is bad, but it just takes a certain kind of "sound" (usually generic) to make it to the major markets.

I know with our band, alot of the stuff we have played in the past has been generic (we got rid of the bad seeds that desired this), but from this point on, we are trying to be unique as possible. Things are getting alot more progressive and unique (need to get a new recording up!).

Newer bands tend to follow the generic sound of whatever genre the band they idolize sounds like. They want to play and/or be in the band that they love so much. I know, I used to be this way. It also offers them an easy fan base built on the bands that pioneered the sound. This cycle seems to lead to trends that most people either love or hate (nu-emo for example). Once the trend reaches the saturation point, the bubble pops and people look for a new trend to follow. It happens with clothing styles, hair styles, music, movies, video games, etc. Thats just life when money and marketing is involved.

As mentioned earlier, where you look determines your outlook on the current music scene. If you go mainstream, I would agree that its looking pretty stagnate, as I feel alot of the current trends are reaching their bursting point. A new set of cycles is about to begin soon. If you look to the "underground" you will find a wealth of music and upcoming trends that you can get in on early (so you look that much cooler) That scene isan't, and never will be, stagnate.
