Question Colored CD's..(please reply)

I'm thinking about starting to sell colored blank cd's online. By colored, i mean like with designs, such as a smiley face, checkerboard, and other patterns. Would any of you ever be interested in something like this? I'm not sure if it's worth my time and effort. Thnaks in advance for reply's!

It could be popular, I thought it would be super hard to sell blank cds online since most people could easily buy them a the local store and they aren't expensive.

I wouldn't buy anything cheesy. And if I was to buy anything online it would be a real cd.

Meh, I don't know.

There's always gonna be someone who wants this kinda stuff.
But, blank c.d's are dirt cheap, and people could design them by themselves.

I don't think it's really worth it.

People can already buy blank CDs and now can also the CD labels and means by which to put the designs onto them. Most people who are going to buy blank CDs will be in a position to print their own designs onto the CD labels, as those who have a CD burner usually have also a printer etc. and would be able to buy blank CD labels for printing onto themselves. There really wouldn't be a market for what you seemed to be proposing.

If you really wanted to get your designs onto peoples CDs then you could maybe make a website where you did pre-prepared designs which the customer could then print onto blank CD labels which they had bought themselves. This would cut down on overheads a lot for you (transporting, buying stacks of CDs), but you could still make some cash either by charging people to access the designs or by getting sponsorship for your site.

So essentially, the only realistic market I could see would be for people who don't have any artistic abilities or maybe just access to an art program on their computer. There might be some who would want to have access to a choice of art templates which they could print onto their CD labels.

I'd expect there are a lot of websites which already do this though, so probably its only worth your while if you have some really good art to put onto the label templates already.

Well, the one good thing about blank CDs is the fact that they are cheap. You buy a huge lot of them and pay hardly anything.
If you sell your self-made ones, people have to pay some more for it.
I wouldn't do.
And yeah, as some of you already said, it's pretty easy to design them by yourself.
