well, I'm assuming by childhood you mean as in <10, and for me, it'd have to be (yes urban, you would have killed my parents) Achtung baby, U2. my dad used to put it on every sunday before rounding my sister and me up to wash us....

My parents had decent taste, old and new: Pink Floyd, the Beatles, to name a few, for some reason Stereo MC's stood out the most... plus a lot of classical stuff, which I only came to enjoy a couple of years back...

A lot of my friends say that The Beatles were a big part of their childhood music-wise but I don't remember listening to them away from Top Of The Pops 2. I find that odd because my father is a fan.

i always remembered the soundtrack of a cartoon movie about dinosaurs. If my memory serves me right, the "greatest love of all" is one of its embedded music. that's really great!

My old man was all motown all the time.

My mother could have given a **** less so it was either top 40 or sports talk radio. She did sing a lot of old irish folk songs though.

My dad also listened to Jazz.
My sister being 5 years older played a lot of disco & pop: Bee Gees, ELO, Paul McCartney & Wings, every novelty disco song ever produced.

My wife on the other hand - much heavier stuff due to her dad being a hippy - a lot of Pink Floyd.

My parents brought me up on Neil Diamond, Moody Blues, and Peter, Paul and Mary. Moody Blues don't entirely suck, but the rest... Ugh.

When I listened to my own music, I had (for example) Michael Jackson's "Thriller" on vinyl, Debbie Gibson on tape, and eventually, Vanilla Ice on CD. After that, I think childhood was over.
