Unless you're one of the few in human history with perfect pitch, you're not going to hit every note up and down 88 keys. This is coming from someone who sings on a daily basis with an odd timbre in a good way. What makes my teeth cringe is when fans sing along live and aren't even close to the notes the vocalist is singing, let alone the key. To my ears it just sounds ugh. Other than that to answer your question, I am blessed with the ability to play my favorite tunes on the piano, bass and vocals (and in some retrospects, the guitar). Lyrics in comparison to poetry there is not much difference. You can have your metaphors, your similes, your personifications, music can be poetry just a soundtrack being delivered with the poem.
I look for creativity and uniqueness in music. as well as relevance. Not some pointless song about a boyfriend vs. girlfriend thing or how you wanna rob a store. |

I can sing in tune, but not at the higher notes, so I either have to sing those notes an octave lower, or sing the song at a different pitch without the music.
Can't inmagine being tone deaf, singing is a big part of my life. I'm not the best singer or anything, but it's extremely fun nontheless. Still can''t really sing from my diaphragm/use breathe support well at all though. Can someone tell me, is the first minute of this wrong because it's too high for me? like it sounds bad, but not too bad, it's weird. (Don't click if you want to avoid out of tune singing) https://soundcloud.com/dylstew2/something Should I sing it lower, like at 1:00 also, my voice gets all ****ed up, especially at higher notes. look: first two times, sounds fine, second two times is awful like I smoked too many cigarretes, often happens when I sing high notes. https://soundcloud.com/dylstew2/wrong Quote:

I could probably sing in tune if I took some singing lessons. But for now I just lie to myself, and pretend to sing like Morrissey while in the shower. |

I can't sing in tune at all and at my peak could barely play parts of When the Saints Go Marching In on piano. So I'm in your target audience.
