I went to see the Cirlcle Jerks headline a punk show back in the 80's. Got there early enough to see the other bands play but when it was time for the Circle Jerks to play they were a no-show. No announcement was made to explain the situation to the audience. Most of us waited for a while figuring they might be late getting to the venue but after a while people got bored and started leaving and as far as I know, the band never arrived.

I never did find out why they didn't show up that night.
