Who do you think will win the US presidency in 2024 (posted 1 June 2022)

wp:2024 United States presidential election

You can vote for one, some, or all of these choices.

Exo 06-01-2022 08:45 AM

Beto.

I just wonder which Republican will win the Presidency. Seems highly unlikely that Trump would even get the nomination if he ran again.

Trollheart 06-01-2022 11:42 AM

Question to OP (well, two questions): you have one of the last poll choices that "I'll be eligible/ineligible to vote", so is the question then who will you vote for? Cos if it's who do you think will win, why would it matter if you are able to vote or not (I'm obviously not, being a non-American citizen)?

Question 2: there are a lot of choices. Is this a multiple-choice poll or have you just to choose one option?

If it is a Republican, I hope it's my Governor, Larry Hogan. Alas, nobody likes a Centrist in the primaries, however.

I at least think I set it up as one being able to choose more than one choice.

As for your first question, with the above, obviously you can vote on eligibility/ineligibility as well as the others.

Also FWIW, generally when I set up polls I rarely vote in them, and in this case I'll probably vote in this poll after August.

If you still think the Republican base is willing to tolerate a centrist and we can get back to bipartisanship you are completely out of touch.

SGR 06-02-2022 11:31 AM

I think 2024 could be Vermin Supreme's year

you can try to squirm away from it all you want but trump is coming back to grab America by the pussy again.

I do think Psy-Fi is kidding himself if he actually believes that Trump won't get the nomination if he chooses to run again. There's probably a good chunk of Republicans who'd prefer someone less divisive, but at this point, the R's made their bed, and they're gonna have to ride or die with Trump. I just can't imagine Ron DeSantis winning out in the nomination over Trump.

Caught ya! You didn't read the OP.

jwb 06-02-2022 09:10 PM

It almost feels destined for him to come back and do a late second term lol. Imagine the unrelenting cess pit this country will become during and in the election leading up to Trump round 2?

Iah it's probably a toss up between trump and biden but the idea of it being anyone else feels pretty counter intuitive to me at this point.

Man, and here I was thinking I could count you in as a supporter of a Trump v. Hillary rematch.

jwb 06-02-2022 10:37 PM

If Hillary managed to somehow cuck Joe Biden out of the Democratic nomination that seems like a perfect backstory for Trump round 2 actually. I would completely be on board with that.

Trollheart 06-03-2022 05:17 AM

Hey, it could still happen!

SGR 06-11-2022 08:48 AM

If the R's didn't let Trump run again and give their seal of approval, and he ran as an independent instead, the Dems would win the election by default - 60% of R's would vote for Trump, if not more.

jwb 06-11-2022 09:14 AM

How can they stop him from running as a Republican?

rubber soul 06-11-2022 09:26 AM

They can't. They can only find a way to find someone that could beat him. Somehow I don't think Ron DeSantis is the answer.

cursedcalendar 06-12-2022 06:24 PM

I will win.

SGR 06-12-2022 06:29 PM

I guess my thought was that the RNC could make it more difficult for Trump to win the nomination if that's the position they chose, but again, if Trump remains as popular as he is with the GOP base, it would seem to be an unwise thing to do.

The Batlord 06-12-2022 07:00 PM

I kinda think his base has moved beyond the need of Trump as a central figure but there's still been no one to replace him and him getting booed for pushing the vaccines isn't THAT big a deal. So yeah it's his nomination to lose.

I can't see it being anyone other than Trump for R's (barring health complications or him just deciding not to do it for whatever reason [I doubt that])

I know Biden has said he's gonna seek re-election, but I still doubt it. To me though, there's no obvious star candidate/successor for the Dems either. It would be kinda cool if they could stuff Noam Chomsky's wrinkly ass in a time machine, make him 30 years younger, and then get him to run for the Dems. I mean, if Biden decides not to run for re-election, who would it be? Gavin Newsom? If AOC was a year or two older, she could run - maybe in 2028. She's gonna get elected President, book it. Even if not in 2028, it will happen.

The Batlord 06-12-2022 09:28 PM

Noam Chomsky is pure anti-charisma and I'm pretty sure the Dem establishment would rather drown him in a gas station bathroom than let him get any kind of political power.

If the Dems are stupid enough to run someone other than the incumbent then they will certainly lose. I doubt they would do so.

Not unless she learns to how to work well with others.

You can’t stand for US Presidency if you’re in jail.

Trump going to jail is a leftist wet dream, but that's all it is.

The Batlord 06-22-2022 01:46 PM

It should be anyone's dream who isn't a fascist but you keep on sending weird signals.

SGR 06-22-2022 02:41 PM

If every scumbag piece of **** politician was in jail who deserved to be, we'd have a pretty empty capitol.

I just try to keep my dreams in perspective. The right jerked themselves off about Hillary going to jail. Didn't happen - won't happen. The left jerks themselves off about Trump going to jail, that's also not going to happen.

The Batlord 06-22-2022 02:57 PM

Your false equivalencies are either evidence of stupidity or dishonesty. Hillary is probably guilty of something like tax fraud or whatever but she isn't really guilty of making obviously bull**** legal challenges to overturn an election and then fomenting a coup. That is sort of a whole new ballpark and for you to be carelessly brushing that aside so you can claim "both sides" isn't being fair and balanced. AT BEST you are simply protecting your ability to sympathize with the right so you don't have to do any hard thinking about taking sides.

jwb 06-22-2022 03:33 PM

If we end up sending him to jail over Jan 6 after letting him go to Epstein's island to rape kids that's just more proof that pizzagate is true

Do you think Trump is going to jail?

Unfortunately no, he is truly Teflon Don.

No and therefore I will not wish he would and will declare Hillary to be equally criminal so I can have a nice Thanksgiving dinner with uncle Bob who only takes his MAGA hat off to say grace.

The Batlord 06-22-2022 04:44 PM

Well said. You must have learnt something from Marx , Engels , Luxemburg , Marcuse, Mariátegui , Bloch , Horkheimer , Guevara , Kollantai et al.

My politics all come from the president's speech from Independence Day.
