MB Awards 2019 - Nominations

Thanks to anyone who has nominated me, but especially to MarieMarie and Batlord for their remarks.

Best Avatar: I like how Neapolitan’s avatar gives a clue to his view of music; eclectic and often retro. Also Key's for being very stylish and following a theme.
Best Signature: The best signature is a short one, so I’m going for Trollheart’s “Signature free” signature; very clever in a couple of words.
Sexiest Member (female): WWWP: I feel like we are due another change of hair colour and another photo, please.
Howard The Duck Memorial Award for Most Inane Member: I enjoy talking architecture and geography with Mindfulness, but some of his posts about food seem, well, inane, but then I’ve never found food to be an interesting topic of conversation.
Biggest Fanboy / Fangirl of the Year: With his Jimmy Page avatar, Chula is repping Led Zep with every post. By the same reasoning, Black Francis too.
Nicest member: MarieMarie has a genuinely sympathetic attitude to other members, which I noticed particularly in the Mental Health thread.
Smartest poster: I don’t understand all of Frownland’s debating points, but the ones I do make me think that he has a very quick and very sharp intelligence.
Funniest member: Like the most famous comedians, Batlord´s humour is laced with anger, sadness and streaks of remarkable perceptiveness.
Angriest Member: Occult Hawk leads the field with his ability to rant about things that I take for granted.
Best Mediator: When Exo intervenes, the fight’s over and that’s final.
Best Site Contributor: Batlord´s off-topic prompting has kept many threads alive long after the original topic has been exhausted.

Biggest Music Contributor: In the forums I visit, Psy-Fi has probably been the most regular recommender of music this year.
Best Taste in Music: I usually check out grindy’s recs as his taste overlaps with mine more than most other members here - and I’m too myopic to see beyond the notion that my own taste in music is the best!
Most Improved Member: People hint darkly that Key used to have probs here, but he's always struck me as an intelligent, thoughtful poster.
Most Underrated Poster: I think Fluff and DwnWthVwls are both underrated, but that’s partly because they don’t post as much as they used to.

Best Thread Starter: Came back late, but Trollheart is already making up for lost time.
Most Missed Poster: rostasi knew more about music than almost anyone here, so his absence is a real loss to MB. For the rest, there’s a whole threadful of people I miss….
Most Diverse Music Taste: Impossible to predict which music subforum Janszoon may turn up in
Thread of the Year: The idea of the Your Day thread is so simple, but it will surely outlive us all. This year it seems to’ve been particularly lively.
Moderator of the Year: Frownland is the most visible of the mods and the one I turn to first if I have a prob.
Best Journal 2019: Trollheart’s Year of Hell is an exceptionally honest look at a life lived under very difficult circumstances.
Best New Member 2019: ziggywas joined this year, and although he doesn’t post much, I like him.
Best Rivalry: Now that the Chula/Frownland rivalry has toned down it’s like watching two characters in a long-running soap opera; you know they fought in Series 1, which adds an extra dimension to how they are being polite to each other in Series 3.
Biggest Lounge Lizard: Must be elphenor, given how much I know about his life without ever once having asked him a personal question.
