^ Sorry to disappoint, Fluff, but I'm not into football tbh:-
Quote:
(Only once did I go to a football match as an adult, because I was friendly with a couple of Brentford supporters at work and they said I should give it a try. So we met in a Brentford pub then walked to the football ground, only to stand in the cold drizzle of a winter's day. For me it was about as exciting as waiting for a bus, but in pre-mobile days, you couldn't suddenly be called away to some social emergency elsewhere. Nonetheless, I had half an hour to think up an escape plan and at halftime I came up with the most feeble excuse of my life: putting on a troubled face I said, "Hey guys, I've just remembered that my library books are due back! If I leave now, I'll just have time to get there before the library closes!")

^ Even with the occasional cry of forlorn encouragement, ( Come on, you "B"s !), the home team only managed a nil-nil result apparently. As for me, I went to the library and felt as happy as if I had escaped from prison!

A point perhaps to consider - I know this is all in fun and nobody expects this to happen but still: the old adage, "sometimes your dreams coming true can be your biggest nightmare". Well, maybe it's not an adage: maybe I made it up. But the sentiment holds true. If everything works out exactly as you want every single time, wouldn't it eventually get boring? Fluff, if you knew Villa would win every single match, wouldn't you finally get fed up watching them? Isn't the whole idea about footy the unexpected, the chance that something different might happen? If you knew the results, or could accurately predict it every time, would it be worth watching? How long can eternity be before everything gets boring? Would you still love the music you love now - those albums, both of you who mentioned them - 1,000,000,000 years from now? Something to think on, perhaps.

I will love the music I like forever and the artists will visit sometimes and drop off new albums they have been working on. |

He already gave up Love/Hate but any thread that gives me an excuse to talk about the X-Men is great.
