MB Does D&D
and no, i don't mean drugs and do-rags.
here's a link to the site we would try it on first. https://roll20.net/ has 3d dice, character sheets, voice chat, etc etc. all the essentials that will make it easy and fun to play. i know absolutly nada about d&d except that it looks fun so if someone wiser than i wants to take the lead, go right ahead. aside from that just sign up pussies. who is in? -Qwerty - Batlord - Ori - Chio - Ziggy (im not calling you Akai you ****ing weeb) - WWWP - 2017's Member of the Year - Trollheart - FaSho |
There should be another site/program to do it on--anything that has group voice chat should suffice-- just in case roll20 doesn't work for some of us (I definitely couldn't use that on the laptop I'm on now, and I won't be able to use my pc until after this Thursday. And it's an older PC so it might have problems, I don't know yet)
edit: though I suppose as long as the DM were using roll20 (to keep track of everything more easily) it would work out fine even if the rest of us had to use discord or skype or whatever..? I don't know |

it doesn't need to support voice chat, in the past Dwv, elph, bat and i have done voice chatting through the Twitch desktop app which works really well with minimal cpu requirements. |
Ooh I see.
Hmmmm what should my character be hmmmm (half orc child maybe?) |
thing about roll20 is it's free. not sure if there is other stuff out there that will do the same thing with no cost.
|
I'm down, haven't played D&D for time but i'll give it a go.
If you need something good for voice chat use Discord or TS3. |
Yeah Twitch has been the least CPU intensive so far, but... I don't even know if I can run that on a Chromebook. It's probs gonna be a couple weeks before I can get my computer back up and running.
|
oh and also yeah, i dont think we would all need to be in the roll20 game. seems like as long as we can talk we make it work.

i kid you not |
OK good, and yeah same for me, I'll need a couple weeks to get settled into the new place ideally. Twitch sounds fine.

cool. we'll leave things a little up in the air for now and if people just want to update once they're able to participate we can look to nail down an actual date and time. i know there will be a few time zones to consider but i think we should be able to make it work fairly easily.
|
There's plenty of things to brainstorm in the meantime. I want this to be as stupid as possible.
|
i don't know if you have experienced drunk batlord but...
stupid will be an understatement *queue that drunk rambling clip about sarah kerrigan from his starcraft video* |
Count me in! I have never played but am eager to learn!
|
I'll have a large supply of boxed wine ready. (None of you have met drunk chio before)
|
I want to play, please

Very long time since I played a cheap knock-off version of this called Tunnels and Trolls, but it's the same basic idea. I guess if you don't have anyone to do Gamemaster at the moment I can step up. Other than that, count me in as a character.

Sounds confusing.

From what I remember, anyway. |

Dunno what TMK is. Will keep an eye on the thread. |
Sounds like if you have one or two veterans they can work the rest of the people through it so that it can run reasonably smoothly, and then the shared camaraderie will do the rest. I imagine that after a game or two I'd be willing to throw in as a DM, but I just know nothing to feel confident that I'd be suitable.
