Obviously, this show is very intelligent and in great taste.

Excel Saga is actually a show I've wanted to watch for years but I'm lazy.

It's fun in small doses, but a bit too nutty and random for more than 1-2 episodes at a time.

AMV makers are like MRA's: they're so cringey that you can almost never tell when they're being ironic. But lol @ www.islamway.us. What even the ****?

I have too much faith in people and assume 99.9% of AMV's are meant to be cringey.

Even the Linkin Park ones?

I mean, who actually likes Linkin Park? If it's a dark, melodramatic AMV with Chester screaming "Craawliing iiin my skiiin", it's almost too perfect to be anything other than a joke. Or so I want to believe.

Well, thanks to a wikipedia disambiguation page, I just learned what you are talking about in this thread. In this case, AMVs are clearly not Abandoned Medieval Villages, but Frownland and Chio don't seem to be posting Animé Music Videos either. As a mod, I think Frownland has no alternative but to report himself to himself for trying to derail a thread.

Update: I've watched this 5 times since posting it.

Except I think this one is very well made. But it's terrible anime and terrible music, so it's still a terrible AMV.

Might as well post this since it deserves mention in any AMV thread. An hour-long AMV with a million songs/song clips and god knows how many anime. Bat**** crazy. Introduced me to Azumangah Daioh to boot, which is one of my all-time fav animes.

Omg I loved that dumb show (Azumangah Daioh) but could just never remember the name of it.( Typically I only like weird artsy 80s anime so I don't really understand why I liked it so much) Have you seen the new Pop Team Epic show?

I have not. But Azumangah Daioh is clearly great cause it makes no sense (especially early episodes). The episodes have vague themes, but ultimately are collections of nonsense scenes that are strung together haphazardly.

It's also great because it communicates the innocence and pointlessness of youth in a way that makes it fun and nostalgic while still making sure to point out how stupid all your best school memories really were. And now that you're older the teachers are the best characters, showing just how much you'll always be that same retarded jackass from school, just with new problems to make your life just as ridiculous. For real me and my best friend are entirely Yukari and Nyamo and have been since high school.

Well I do love goofy nonsense so I suppose that explains it. But yeah I remember it being very #relatable and comforting with its endearing whimsical stupidity (though tbh now I mostly only remember lots of yelling). I'm always looking for more wholesome shows like that to balance out all the usual grimdark type stuff.

Bruh, there's literally a term for shows in anime that are just there to make you feel relaxed. I don't remember it, but watch Amanchu. It's literally a show about high school kids who like scuba diving. There's one girl who can't swim but wants to go scuba diving and the entire point of the show is her finally qualifying to scuba dive so that she can swim with her friends. There's nothing else to the plot and it's so relaxing and makes you feel good about the world. For a while I would watch it in 5-10 minute installments while getting ready for work just to get me in a happy mindset and it would work.

Never seen Evangelion either. I read a bit of the manga back when they started publishing it in Danish, but lost interest after 1 or 2 volumes.

God damn. You people seriously need to see Evangelion. It's a singular piece of awesomeness in any country's art repository.

I would sooner if I had someone to watch it with. It's way easier for me to watch a show I haven't seen before if I can discuss it with people the entire time. (Because I'm annoying)

Evangelion is better seen and experienced alone tbh. It's a personal show.

Oh I see. Well I had heard that it was extremely depressing and would "ruin your life" (my kind of show for sure) according to some girl I talked to about it at a party so I suppose that makes sense then.
