I am familiar with Dio though I didn't know he was a God. I'm also familiar with Holy Diver. What I'm not familiar with is a track that got about as much airplay on AOR radio as the Beer Barrell Polka.

Putz!

You should be kicking yourself for taking us on a wild goose chase. I never would have used a Dio song, first of all. Only a handful of people on this board know who he is let alone have to pick out something by him in a game that is based on well know songs, not to mention Dio isn't Rock, it's Metal. If you would have said Metal, I'd have taken a look into Dio, since that's one of the bands I thought of when you were mentioning it was a reference to God. That's why I kept repeating "A rock song....?".

Good grief.

First of all, re-read the explanation of the clue. I never said Dio WAS a god (though he was): the clue asked you to consider the existence of God. Dio is God in Latin. QED. As I say, most people here know Dio and Holy Diver is his most famous and successful album, so as Batty would say, go suck a dick.

Nobody said it had to get airplay. I don't know "Girlfriend is Better" (though I've heard of it) and no-one questioned that. As for "Harper ****ing Valley PTA"? Never heard of it. Ever. So again, eat me.

It's up to you to confirm, I can't elaborate. Metal is a subgenre of rock. Had you said "is it a rock song" and then followed that up with "is it a metal song" I would have said yes. I told you you were close with Van Halen. You can eat me too.

You won't have any such complaints about the current one, if you think about it and ASK THE RIGHT ****ING QUESTIONS.

I get what you mean but I would keep metal and rock separate in the future for this thread. Also the Van Halen hint did more to confuse than help.

Yeah, noted for future reference. I guess Pet_Sounds also stumbled close to the answer, but his question wasn't specific enough.

So: let's put that one behind us and concentrate on the new one.
I'll give yaz another hint: don't bother with the 21st century, or indeed the first half of the 20th.

No (I'd have to check to be 100 percent certain but I don't think so. I'll get back to you. Say no for now. You might be on to something. Maybe.)

Confirmed: No, it has not been. At least, a search didn't show me that it had been.

So, by that logic, if I pick a Blues song, and you ask me if it's a Metal song, I'll say yes. Got it.
