No

Follow up on where you might have heard it from, I think that'll be a lot more effective.

Frownland 01-21-2018 09:47 AM

No

I doubt the artist can be two women.
Also, to my knowledge there were few if any female composers at that time, and certainly none who would be famous now.

tl;dr: it's a man.

Trollheart 01-21-2018 09:55 AM

"In the Hall of the Mountain King"?

Frownland 01-21-2018 09:55 AM

That's from 1875. No

Frownland 01-21-2018 09:56 AM

^No

Hint: Think iconic soundtrack. Probably the most iconic of all time, even.

Trollheart 01-21-2018 09:59 AM

I think I may have it.
"Ride of the Valkyries"?

Frownland 01-21-2018 10:06 AM

No

rubber soul 01-21-2018 10:08 AM

Is the composer German?

Frownland 01-21-2018 10:09 AM

Yes

Trollheart 01-21-2018 10:10 AM

Sigh. "The Blue Danube"?

Is it Also sprach Zarathustra by Strauss?

Trollheart 01-21-2018 10:18 AM

I'm going to leave it for now, see if someone else can get some more clues. I'm just basically throwing out iconic classical compositions from around that period here, and I kind of don't want to just stumble on it by a process of elimination. I'll check back later.

Bingo!

That's a good contender for most iconic classical soundtrack ever right? Felt like I might have been overselling it there but I also think it's pretty valid.

rubber soul 01-21-2018 10:18 AM

I'm thinking 2001 A Space Odyssey, Troll.

rubber soul 01-21-2018 10:19 AM

Troll, come back, we've solved it :D

Trollheart 01-21-2018 10:22 AM

Yeah I see you have. Well done, RS. I just couldn't think of another one. Good one, Frown! Took a while.

So, you're next up then, RS?

rubber soul 01-21-2018 10:24 AM

Yep. And I have my song. I'll drop a hint when necessary. Meanwhile I will say it's from the 20th century (again)

You should really put the hint at the start; it's a wide net you're casting otherwise.

rubber soul 01-21-2018 10:39 AM

yes

Frownland 01-21-2018 10:41 AM

Is it another goddamn rock song?

Who are you saying no to? Mindfulness or Frown? Or both? (The power of the quote button should not be underestimated)...

Trollheart 01-21-2018 10:45 AM

Solo artist?

Frownland 01-21-2018 10:46 AM

rubber soul 01-21-2018 10:48 AM
