Most Obscure: the Music Banter Challenge
Due to popular (and very vocal) demand, the focus of this thread has been changed.
It's no longer a game or competition, as people seem not to be interested in that. So now it's just somewhere to post your obscure music. Sorry to anyone who was enjoying the game, but the loudmouths have spoken and I'm too tired to argue with them anymore. Frownland, I'm sure you'll be happy to do the honours and change the title to, I don't know: "Music Banter's Most Obscure" or something, and move this to the General Music sub-forum.

Well, you guys know how certain people hate rules...
I would say that as long as it's a band/artist you know well (ie you're not just finding them on bandcamp or YT and playing one song) and let's say they need to have been making music publicly (whether signed, gigging locally or on YT/Soundcloud/Bandcamp) for, what, a year? Just to do away with bands only starting up that your friend's girlfriend's brother's sister gave you a recording of. How does that sound? I'm sure there are lots of you who have been following for years the music of bands or singers most of us might not even know. That's the kind of thing I'm looking at. Whatever everyone's comfortable with. You know what? **** it: I'm hardly one with eclectic music tastes, but I doubt any of you have heard these guys, so let me have at least one shot at the table. The Stars of Heaven - Irish Country/Rock band (defunct) Active from 1983-1990 Anyone know them? Heard of them?

Not only do I know who Lenny White is (Twennynine),
but I met him when I saw Return to Forever over 40 years ago. Venusian Summer is a much better album I think. ...and his playing is great on this tune that I posted here a while back: Also, he's great on this Joe Henderson album too: Last edited by rostasi; 04-15-2017 at 07:42 PM. |
