A lot of their stuff sounds great IMO it's just a shame half of it is nicked.

This level of irony. I...I can't handle it.

Yeah that's ****ing great. They can have been as influential as they wanted to be, but that doesn't make their music any better to listen to. You know who else was extremtly influential in their field? Death.

That's actually one of the songs I liked from that album. Because it balanced the melodic and heavy parts of the song way better than they often did. I generally didn't feel like I was wasting my time with **** that Led Zeppelin didn't know how to properly do while waiting for the good part to come up.

And when they did rock out it was amazing. When Zeppelin bring out the rock it is often almost unparalleled, but so often they try to noodle and bull**** around with garbage that they have no business playing around with.

1. Slept like **** last night.

2. Tweaked by back during it all.

3. First rum and coke is settling in nicely at the moment.

4. Have read this sentence six times and it's still not sitting right.

5. About to go for R&C number two.

That is all.

All I'm trying to say is that I'm not judging Led Zeppelin by their influence. Just the way I do or do not like the sound that is coming out of my headphones.

You need new headphones. Listen to these songs through cans and then deny Page's brilliance.

In The Light
Ten Years Gone
The Song Remains the Same
Stairway to Heaven.

The dude treated and recorded his guitars like a freaking orchestra.

Overproduced. I always say if you can't do it live don't do it at all!

And I just don't like what Led Zeppelin does when they aren't making pure rock. They are an amazing rock band, but they had delusions of grandeur about being a folk/blues band.

I'm curious about your thoughts on the dividing line between rock and blues when it comes to Zeppelin. Specific song examples and **** because I always saw rock as just heavier blues.

But he did do it live. Which is all the more amazing.

Killer use of a B-Bender on his tele. In case you don't know what it is, the B-Bender is a device that connects the B string of the guitar to the upper strap button. Every time Page yanks down on the guitar it bends the B string.

Disclaimer: This is 1979 when Page was deep in the throes of Heroin addiction so cut the dude an ounce of slack.
