See, for me, everything after Pulp Fiction is a downhill slope. Inglorious Basterds is his best film since pulp fiction, but some scenes, again, way to ridiculous. Like when they introduced the bear jew (is that right?) had me laughing. I just can't get into anything he has done since his first two films.

You say that like it's both unintentional on Tarantino's part and a bad thing.

I have no idea if it was intentional or care. I didn't enjoy it. I laughed because of how dumb it was.

It was intentional and it's one of his signatures.

I think it's a point in Tarantino's favour when you laugh at something he wants you to laugh at.

A point if you laugh because it's funny. I didn't laugh because it was funny. I laughed because it was dumb.

Even when the over the top dumbness is what makes it funny?

See, I love movies like that. But it is constant over the top dumb Ness for those movies. Inglorious Basterds is interspersed with so much serious scenes as well as over the top dumbness that it just ruins the movie for me.

Sounds like that scene isn't the only thing that's dumb.

Sounds like your taste leans more towards the goofy than smart side of satire.
