I've never seen Sword Art Online, but I've heard horror stories. You should check out Log Horizon for an anime about an MMO that is at least not so polarizing. It deals with both fantasy and MMO's in a way that might actually be deconstructionist to both genres.
The abridged SAO series at the very least is ****ing amazing. DBZ abridged good.

SAO's actually really good. The ending of the first arc is a little hokey, but it does a good job comparing MMo life to real life and has a great cast. Not to mention, Hitchcock might have gotten jealous of the lighting techniques.

But regardless, watch Log Horizon. It's fantabulous. It's all about MMO's but it also deals with politics in a way that's positively Game of Thrones. Like, if the player base of an MMO were stuck in their game, and the NPC's were real people in this real MMO world, just how would thousands of people with near godlike power fit into the geopolitical system of such a world. Among many other things. Or, if thousands of MMO players were suddenly stuck in a world where it was as easy to make enough money for food and a bed as it is in an RPG, where you can just go out and fight a goblin or two at most for some quick cash, how would that affect society? Watch Log Horizon now.

Because the bodies themselves would have to be put on life support. There are other factors commonly mentioned in the show itself. You shouldn't watch an analysis on a show before you watch it. The game itself is a fairly accurate depiction of an MMORPG. Only difference is the gameplay, if you know what I mean.
But I suppose it';s really a science fantasy romance story. I have the first book, and the show is INCREDIBLY faithful to the books, even though the show is better. Having said that, Log Horizon's on my todo list.

I'll probably watch the show at some point, but it's just not on my immediate to do list. But finishing Log Horizon is on mine. As starting Kill La Kill should be on yours.

Kill la Kill's not on mine. Not into magical school girl stuff. Log Horizon's on mine, but I wanna finish Evangelion again first and get through English One Punch Man. Plus, I need to finish Sakamoto and Guilty Crown and get a little farther in Rurouni Kenshin before I watch the live-action movie, which people say's legit good.

Any of you guys watch Psycho Pass?
I bought the movie on Blu-Ray today and I'm wondering should I NOT watch it and just watch the series first? Like how screwed am I going to be if I just go into the movie cold?
