So has anyone watched both the sub and the dub of Death Note? I'm a diehard god damn ****ing fan of the manga, but I've never seen the show. Kinda weird actually, as I think I happened upon the manga just by chance as the show just by chance happened to be getting popular, so it was a pretty weird surprise to see the show blow up so hard.

Whatever the case, sub or dub? It can be a pretty big decision, and trying to compare two shows basically can be a pain in the ass when you just want to watch one.

Don't know about the sub, but the dub has very realistic voices, not goofy or raspy voices you usually get, especially considering how anime Vizmedia voice casts can get. Vizmedia went for a very realistic vocal approach. Some of the actors in the show are more well known for things outside of anime, so the casting choices were perfect. The show follows the manga 98%, amd feels like a TV drama rather than an anime. It's only slightly better than the manga. I'm on my third play through the show.
